Et Prague alors…

jaká byla Pařiž?

Paying homage to Jan Ságl’s book A co Pařiž, jaká byla?

– a collection of photographs he took while on assignment

with the Czechoslovak Press Agency in Paris in the 1980s –

this series opens a discours of echoes of one city in the other. Once separated

by the iron curtain, both cities are located on a similar latitude

(Prague: 50° 5’ N, Paris: 48° 51’ N), thriving on the shared aura

of another time. These photographs however

are memories of the here and now, taking time of context for the sake of immediacy.
